Getting wiggy with it

I did a 70s tribute with Sting and Tom Jones at a charity concert and we had such fun. I only know Tom professionally, but I consider Sting a friend. He and his family are just beautiful, and hes an amazing person. This picture was taken in 2000, around the time Livin La Vida Loca was such a huge hit. Does it frustrate me that Ill always be remembered for that song? Not at all. Madonna will only have one Like A Virgin, Michael Jackson will only have one Thriller, but theyve managed to have long careers since then.

Kylie Minogue! Wow! I did a number with her on An Audience With Ricky Martin and as soon as she started dancing I was blown away by her energy, the way she moved her hips, everything about her. I was really nervous before I made the programme it is such a British institution and so many people watch it. But I relaxed as soon I got in front of the audience and just had a ball. I havent kept in touch with Kylie but I was saddened to hear she had breast cancer. Shes in my prayers.

Mummys boy

This is me and my mum when I was in the boyband Menudo. I was in the band for five years and I had a great time, but then it became like a treadmill. I guess I outgrew it. When I look at this photo it makes me miss my mum so much and my dad, too. Ive been so busy promoting the new album that I havent been back home to Puerto Rico to see my family in so long, but we talk on the phone every day.

Lippy chick

Catherine Zeta Jones and I were presenting at the MTV Movie Awards in 1999. When I met her I thought, My God, this is probably the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my entire life. She is just gorgeous. We were presenting the award for Best Kiss In A Movie so when we got up on stage we pretended to be kissing. Let me tell you, shes got great lips.

Dear John

When I think of Elton John I always think of the time he invited me on stage in Miami to do a duet and I got up on his piano and started dancing. He was so angry. He was looking at me as if to say Get off my piano, so I did. But Elton is a fantastic person. This photo was taken at a party for his AIDS Foundation and I was happy to lend my support. It is tragic how this terrible disease affects so many people.

Every picture tells a story

God, I look angry here. Whats wrong with me? This was taken at Tower Records in Hollywood when I was signing copies of my last album. A fan had presented me with this huge portrait and youd think from the look on my face that I didnt like it, but actually I think its really cool. Another reason Im looking so serious? Maybe that I was distressed about my hairstyle.

Dog days

Looking at this photo makes me sad. My dog Icaro passed away six months ago. He was 11 years old and I really miss him. You dont see many pictures of me like this in the papers, because of the nature of the business. I dont get photographed very often because I lead a simple life, no scandal. A paparazzi photographer would starve to death if they tried to make a living from me.
