LONDON, UK -- The Mill (www.the-mill.com) recently completed effects work on artist Kylie Minogue's latest music video, I Believe In You. The project was produced by John Payne and Black Dog, with Vernie Yeung directing, and features Minogue dancing and singing from within a spherical neon cage. She is later met by dancers whose movements are enhanced with streaking neon effects.
The Mill's Flame artist Adam Grint was charged with enhancing the light bars on the cages to bring out their full potential. He boosted and leveled the glow of each bar in each cage, and selected a number of bars to change color over time.
Grint spent a week using Discreet Flame to accomplish the effects. The studio was also responsible for rig-removal and added elements, like extra light bars built in Flame, which were used to create a foreground effect for mid-shots.
Claudia at Metropolis cut the project. Additional credits at The Mill include producer Natalie Waithe, telecine artist Paul Harrison, and Flame work by Stefan Coorey, Barnes, Giles Cheetham, Billie Vine, and Phil Crowe.
